Light Screen Translator (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we process information when you use the macOS application “Light Screen Translator”.
1. Summary
- We do not run third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- Recognized text can be sent to a translation provider only to perform translation.
- Translation history is stored locally on your device.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Screen text
The app captures a user-selected screen area to perform OCR (text recognition). OCR runs locally using Apple system frameworks. If you request a translation, the recognized text is sent to an online translation provider solely to return the translation result. We do not store this text on our servers.
2.2 Subscriptions and purchases
Payments and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
3. Third-party Services
- Apple — App Store, in-app purchases, and receipt validation.
- Translation provider (e.g., OpenAI / other configured provider) — receives the recognized text to return a translation. Text is transmitted over HTTPS and used only to provide the requested translation.
4. Data Storage
- On device: translation history and app preferences (e.g., source/target languages).
- On our servers: no personal data is stored by us.
5. Your Choices
- Control screen recording permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Manage subscriptions via Apple ID.
6. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The latest version will be available at Privacy Policy. Material changes take effect on the posted Effective date.
